About the Moore Center
The E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center (The Moore Center) will be a hub for innovation, collaboration, and workforce development in central North Carolina.
Named in honor of CCCC alumnus E. Eugene Moore, whose $2 million gift helped launch the project, the Center will strengthen the region’s skilled workforce and drive economic growth. Supported by a public and private campaign, it will transform existing campus space into a state-of-the-art training facility for advanced manufacturing and biotechnology — the largest of its kind in the state.
Located on CCCC’s Lee Main Campus, the Moore Center sits in the heart of one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing regions for industry and innovation. Its proximity to major cities, military bases, and higher education institutions makes it ideal for attracting and training top talent.
As manufacturers embrace robotics, automation, cybersecurity, and data analytics, the demand for skilled workers is surging. The Moore Center will meet this need by providing advanced training programs and connecting graduates to employers shaping North Carolina’s economic future.
Central Carolina Community College recognized alumnus E. Eugene Moore for his private $2 million donation by naming the E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center (The Moore Center) in his honor. Moore believes giving back to Central Carolina Community College will grow the skilled local workforce and lead to greater economic development opportunities for the region.

The Moore Center will be constructed following a $72 million public and private fundraising campaign. The center utilizes existing spaces at Central Carolina Community College, allowing for a more cost-effective and expedited construction process once the fundraising process is complete.
Once constructed, the Moore Center will become the largest facility in the state focused on addressing the workforce needs of advanced manufacturing and biotechnology.
